On the 9th of September 1994, H.I.S. opened its doors. Missionaries from five Christian missions: Finnish Free Foreign Mission, Church of God Mission, Kinderhilfswerk, Mission Aviation Fellowship and Baptist Mission of Uganda had signed a Memorandum of Agreement to combine their efforts to set up a mission school. H.I.S. was to be a co-operative effort to support Christian mission personnel in Uganda. Children from both mission and non-mission families were to be welcomed.
Our aim continues as it was at the start. We continue to provide a high quality education that prepares our young people for a life of faith and service.
Our mission is to provide quality international education in a nurturing Christian environment.
Our vision is to equip our students to achieve their God-given potential.
We use a Bible verse for our motto: '...children are a heritage from the Lord.' Psalm 127:3 as we believe that children are indeed a precious gift bestowed on us by God.
